Had preached not making money, now Twitter is more serious about building his business. Reported, the company will bring in more advertising in its stream.
This was conveyed by CEO Dick Costolo in a meeting with several reporters at the headquarters of Twitter in San Francisco.
But it said further by Costolo that Twitter does not indicate that it would pursue an IPO (Initial Public Offering (IPO) and the fact the company does not need the money. This is related to revenue funding of $ 400 million from investors.
"We did this because we want to develop the company as we want," said Costolo as quoted from USAToday, Saturday (09/10/2011). Well to achieve these goals, the best way to do this is by presenting more ads to 100 million active users of Twitter.
Twitter itself is said to have processed about 230 million tweets per day and get a log-in from as many as 40 million active users per day.
With so many people who enliven Twitter, the microblogging site company believes that the time is right to add more advertising.
Twitter has brought it before the ad, but it is limited to the promotion company that were followed by users. With this change the Twitter users will be 'served' with ads from companies that do not follow them.
