Four Los Angeles Firefighters will join Firefighters from various departments to bike over 3,300 miles across the country, from Downtown Los Angeles to New York City. This intense tour is called "Ride for 9-11" and is in honor of those that lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. Sunday, July 24th 2011 in Hollywood commences this 45-day journey, and it will end on Friday, September 9th, 2011 in New York City at the FDNY Firefighters Memorial, on the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. The goals of this event are to honor the Public Servants that lost their loves on that horrific day and raise money for two charities: The Leary Firefighters Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project.
This Saturday, April 23rd, there will be a pancake breakfast fundraiser for this event held at Fire Station 69 (15045 Sunset boulevard, Pacific Palisades 90272).
